Comment Growth Tools Full Tutorial (Latest)
Updated over 4 months ago

Welcome to the complete guide on leveraging Onlysocial's comment growth tools for Salesbot.

Video Guide:

Our comment automation tool acts as your virtual assistant, managing your Facebook and Instagram comments by not only replying but also hiding those from competitors, eliminating unwanted or spammy comments, and initiating private sales conversations with commenters.

Let's dive into the tutorial.

How to use the Comment growth tools?

To get started, log in to your Onlysocial account, and from the dashboard, click on Salesbot. From the Salesbot menu, click on Comment Growth Tools.

When you load the comment growth tools, you'll be presented with two panels: the menu items for Facebook and the other for Instagram.

NOTE: The steps for automating comments are the same for both Instagram and Facebook. Except for the rare, unique features associated with each

For the sake of this tutorial, we'll be helping you through Facebook comment automation. Now let's explain what each of the menu items means:

Understanding the Key Features

  1. Comment Template: This is for creating a list of comments that will be used to comment on your own posts by your own page. This is called the Auto Comment Campaign.

NOTE: The templates created here are for commenting on your own Posts, and NOT for the Reply Automation.

  2. Reply Template: This is where you create templates for the auto-reply automation. The templates can be applied to single or multiple posts. This is where you set up how you want to automatically reply to the comments on your page.

  3. Automation Campaign: After creating your templates above, this is where you apply these templates to your posts. Or set up a Full Page Campaign.

  4. Tag Campaign: This is for creating a bulk tag comment campaign where you tag all of those who comment on your post in a single reply. See the tutorial on Tag Campaign HERE.

  5. Reports: This is the analytics section where you see everything about the comments on your page. You'll see all comments and their status: active, hidden, or deleted. You'll also see the commenters and whether a private DM was sent.

Creating the Auto Comment Template

To create the auto-comment template, follow the guide below:

1. Go to Comment Growth Tools, Click on Comment Template

2. Click on Create New Template

3. Now enter your comment template name, and type in the comment in the comment field. You can add more comments by clicking on the Add More button.

You can enter any number of comments. The system will pick each of these comments and comment them on your post in an auto-comment campaign.

Launching an Auto Comment Campaign

To launch an auto comment template, go to Comment Growth Tools > Automation Campaign. Under Latest Posts, click on the gear icon on a post that you'd like to activate auto comment, and click the Enable Auto Comment option.

On the opened pop up, enter your campaign name, select a template that you created earlier, set the comment schedule time, one-time or periodic.

The final step requires that you set a timezome, and then SAVE

Your page will automatically drop comments on its own selected post.

Creating the Auto Reply Template

The auto-reply template is used for replying to comments on your posts when a user uses a keyword that matches what you've set, and you can also reply when no matched keyword is found.

To create a template, follow the guide below:

Go to Comment Growth Tools, and click on Reply Template

Click the Create a New Template button. A page will pop up, which contains everything you need to set up your comment reply template.

The first step requires that you select the Facebook page you're creating this template for. Then proceed to other features:

a. Delete/Hide Unwanted Comments (Optional)

  1. If you wish to delete or hide offensive comments on your posts, you need to set this part up. So you're required to activate either HIDE or DELETE.

  2. Then below it, you're to write the keywords that trigger the hide/delete, each word should be separated by a comma.

  3. To the right, you can choose to Privately DM the commenter of the offensive word. You can either select an existing Message template (Or Chatbot flow) for the reply or you can create a new Message Template.

b. Auto-reply Options

The next step is where you activate the options for the auto-reply template:

  • Do you want to send a reply message to a user multiple times?

If you enable this, your page will reply to a user's comment whenever they comment on your post. If disabled, they only get a reply on the first comment they make. And won't get an auto-comment reply for subsequent comments.

  • Do you want to Enable Comment Reply?

You can disable this if you only want to send a Private Reply (DM) to your commenters. Enable if you also want to reply to the comments.

  • Do you want to Like on Comment by Page?

Enable this if you want to like every comment on your post. Except for those deleted.

  • Do you want HIDE comments after the comment reply?

This option lets you hide every comment on any post you implement this template after a reply is sent. This is good for protecting the commenters on your FB/IG ads.

c. Setting up the Auto Comment Reply

You have two reply options, generic, or keyword filtering.

  • Generic message for all

This is simple, send the same reply to every comment on your post regardless of what their comment is. The reply supports spintax and you can embed the commenter name variable inside reply message. Tagging user is also possible for comment reply only, not for inbox private reply.

  • Send message by filtering word/sentence

If you choose this option then you can define multiple comma-separated filtering word/sentence like if someone comments "hi or holla" it will reply "hello", and if someone comments "thank you" it will reply "welcome".

You can set up to 20 different sets of keywords with each one having its own unique reply. You just need to click on "Add filtering" to add a different set.

NOTE: You can also reply to comments using GIFs, Images, and Videos.

d. Sending Private Reply (DM) to Commenters (Optional)

The final part of setting up your comment reply template is the Private Reply option. For any type of reply you set, you've got the option to initiate a conversation with your commenter.

This is not just a way to add them to your messenger subscriber list, but also a way to initiate a chatbot conversation which could lead to sales.

To send a private reply to your commenter, you simply need to select a message template or create a new message template. If you already created Chatbot flows under your Bot Manager, you can select any of the flows, and you'll automatically initiate a conversation with your commenter using the selected flow.

Finally, you can SAVE your template after setting it up.

Launching an Auto Reply Campaign for Selected Posts

To launch an auto-reply campaign, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Comment Growth tools > Automation Campaign

  2. Under the Latest Posts, click the gear icon on the post you want, and select Enable Auto Reply

  3. Template: On the next screen, you can select to use a template you created earlier, or you can choose to create a new template just for the selected post.

Label: You can add or select labels for this campaign. Any subscriber gain through this reply campaign will be tagged with whatever label you added here.

You can now Submit to save

You've now successfully created an auto-reply campaign for the selected posts.

Launching the "Full Page Reply" Campaign for all Posts (Existing and Future)

To launch a full-page campaign where the reply template will be applied automatically for all previous and future posts, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Comment Growth Tools > Automation Campaign

  2. Click on the Enable Full Page Reply button

  3. A template creation page will come up. Follow the same steps as the Auto Reply Template creation above to set up the Full Page Template. Save the templateto all of your posts.

NOTE: If you're running FB/IG ads, it's best to use the Full Page template because when you make any change to your ads, Meta automatically duplicates the ads post and the ID would change from that which you set for an auto reply campaign.

Launching the Auto Share/Like Campaign

If you manage multiple pages on OnlySocial's Salesbot, you can automatically share new posts from one page to the other pages, and you can also like new posts with the other pages that you manage on our platform.

To do this;

  1. Go to Comment Growth Tools > Automation Campaign

  2. Click on the Enable Like & Share button

  3. Check to Enable Auto share and Auto Like.

  4. Select the pages that you want to perform this action.

  5. Save.
